The Bibliophile blog was launched for a homeschool writing assignment in 2014. Since that point, it has continued to serve as a platform for examining and commenting upon deep ideas and worldviews.

Ideas are all around us every day, from our morning news to our afternoon radio dramas to our evening novels. Each of the ideas has an underlying worldview. This blog's purpose is to examine worldviews and promote deep, critical thinking.

Most of these posts are from myself (James W. Ware.) However, in May of 2014 we shared our very first article from a guest contributor. Since that point, The Bibliophile Blog has had an open invitation to any young people interested in writing a guest article. Each of the posts (whether from myself or a guest contributor) will be presented from a Bible-based Christian worldview.

Ideas are all around us. Ideas have consequences. But, by using our God-given minds, we can analyze and respond to these ideas in a Biblical manner. This is the purpose of The Bibliophile Blog.

Statement of Faith:

1. We believe that God has eternally existed in three persons, Father, Son and, Spirit. (Matthew 28:19)

2. Man rebelled against God’s law and brought death into the world as the just punishment for his rebellion. (Genesis 3:6, Romans 5:12)

3. All of mankind has sinned (broken God’s laws) and is justly condemned to Hell for their trespasses. (Romans 3:23, Romans 21:8)

4. God sent his Son, Jesus Christ, to Earth to take the punishment for mankind’s sin. (John 3:16)

5. Christ was born of a virgin (Matthew 1:18), lived a sinless life (1 Peter 2:22), and performed miracles (Acts 2:22) in fulfillment of numerous prophecies. (Acts 2:21-24)

6. Christ was crucified on a cross and, through that act, bore the wrath of God toward all mankind. (2nd Corinthians 5:21)

7. Christ was buried in a tomb (Matthew 27:60), raised from the dead by the Holy Spirit on the third day (Romans 8:11), and ascended to the right hand of the Father (Mark 16:19, Acts 9:1)

8. It is the mission of all Christians everywhere to preach the gospel to this dark and dying world. (Matthew 28: 19-20, Romans 10:13-15)

9. This gospel is contained in the infallible, unchanging, sufficient, unchanging, inspired word of God, the Bible. (2nd Timothy 3:16)

10. Salvation can be attained by believing the gospel (Acts 16:31), repenting from sins (Acts 17:30), and receiving Christ as savior and Lord of one’s life. (Romans 10:9)
